Choeung Ek Genocidal Center

The Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, located about 17 kilometers south of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is a solemn and deeply moving memorial site that stands as a reminder of the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979. Once an orchard and later a mass execution site, Choeung Ek is part of the infamous “Killing Fields,” where thousands of innocent men, women, and children were brutally murdered and buried in mass graves.
